Merry Christmas

This is what Christmas looked like at our house this year. We had the scooter and the little push toy all put together under the tree from Santa. We had lots of fun eating breakfast, talking about the birth of Jesus and sharing presents.

Addison loved it all. She opened every one's presents for them. I loved that she wasn't at all selfish or greedy about presents. She was just so excited about each present, no matter who it was for. She would ride her little scooter over to the tree, put a present in the basket, and deliver it to whoever it belonged to.

Reagan was just a mess! She crawled all over the room, climbing in boxes, eating paper and getting into everything!

It was such a relaxing day. We walked to the park, ate a nice Christmas lunch, took naps and just played. It was a great day to reflect on our blessings and just enjoy each other.

Of course no story of mine is complete without a diaper disaster. My child held nothing back for Christmas! They were in carefully planned, well thought out, matching Christmas pajamas. However, Reagan had a giant blowout before Addison even woke up and ruined hers! Next year mama knows...save them till the camera is coming out!

Spillin' Santa's Milk

Well, Santa got his milk off the floor at the Guess house this year! Addison was having so much fun getting his milk ready, "ALL MY MYSELF!". Which, is the way she prefers to do everything these days. She was doing so well, then she got a little silly. She made a few precious faces and even decided to taste the milk. Up till now she has never liked milk, but I guess she decided anything good enough for Santa was good enough for her. She had us laughing like crazy all the way up to the point where the milk spilled all over the just freshly mopped floors!
I am not sure which incident had me laughing the most, Santa's spilled milk, or the unfortunate encounter that all the nativity scene animals had with the dog's water bowl. Not sure these particular animals were meant for water, but they seemed to come out no worse for the wear. Addison was so sweet about giving the animals a ride around in the basket of her new scooter. It was all going so well, until she crashed, tipped over the scooter and all the animals came tumbling down. Into the dog's water bowl. Which, just happened to be what tripped her in the first place.

The "My Little Pony" World Show

Here is Addison with the two things she delights in most, her babies and horses. She is riding "Rodney" with three babies in her arms and several other babies have ponies of their own. She was very specific about the instructions. They all had to put on their shoes, get on their horses and go to the horse show

A Most Reliable Babysitter....

Here is Maggie the Dog keeping a watchful eye on all of Addison's babydolls. The babies all have a name....from left to right....Baby Susie, Violet, Lucy, Pinkness, Christmas, Dora, Cinderella, Stripeness-Big-Sister, and Baby Do. Some names were suggested my Mom, some are Disney's. Can you guess which ones she named herself?

Here We Go

For those of you who haven't heard, we are moving to Denver! Tommy was offered a promotion with Coke and decided to accept. I am so proud of him!

Then, oh-my-goodness...my brother-in-law sent me these pictures from his apartment in Boulder, just moments after we agreed to go. I have never even seen snow...I don't think I am fully prepared for what we are getting into.

Lot's of winter cloths shopping in my future. I don't think my t-shirts and flip-flops are going to cut it!

A Weekend Wedding

We went to my cousin Jennifer's wedding in Dallas this weekend. The girls had a great time getting all dressed up. The wedding was beautiful and it was great to spend time with family. Addison loved the bubbles and the cake. The whole event just made Reagan really tired!

Merry Christmas

Santa was a big hit! Addison shook his hand, gave him a hug and talked and talked! She made sure he knew that she wanted a "two-wheel" scooter and that Reagan wanted a bike. Reagan just stared at him in awe. She wasn't scared, just mesmerized!

But with girls this cute....

...who cares if the house is falling apart!!!

Not one of those days where I smile and laugh about it all....

The day started at 3:00am, when I woke up with back pain so severe I was stumbling through the house looking for the Vicatin prescribed when I had Reagan. To clarify how bad the pain was, I don't even take that stuff after my C-Sections, which is why I had thrown it away. I have invested lots of time and money into chiropractics over the last two months, and am thankfully starting to feel some relief, but Wednesday was not good.
Fast Forward to 9:00am, I am now in the chiro. office, the moment they opened begging for help with my pain. My girls, who go to these visits with me multiple times each week, and are usually great, were NOT cooperative. Reagan didn't feel well, and wouldn't stop crying and Addison just bounced around the office, talked LOUDLY and climbed things. The doc did what he could for me despite the distractions and set me up on some therapy.
No luck on the therapy. No sooner then he gets me all hooked up, Addison announces she needs to go pee-pee. If you have a two year old, then you know. This prevails!!! I gave up some much needed therapy, took her to the potty and headed home.
At 11:00am a contractor shows up to fix the leak in our master bathroom. Not much good news there. The leak is a minor problem, but he has to cut a rather expensive hole in the dining room ceiling to fix it. Also, thanks to Houston and the humidity beautiful green mold had already begun to grow!
Sometime around 1:00pm the contractor left to go to Lowes for shower parts. I started the dishwasher and headed upstairs to play with the girls. Thankfully 20 minutes later I ran to the kitchen to grab something. The picture above is what I found. LOTS and LOTS of soap and water ALL OVER my kitchen and pouring from the dishwasher. This can't be good! Addison had a great time helping me "clean" everything up. Now, I am really anxious for the contractor to return and tell me what in the world is wrong with my dishwasher! Turns out, the pump doesn't work, and for this you get a new dishwasher.
I certainly have NO desire to wash dishes by hand for any length of time, so I made plans to meet Tommy at Home Depot after work. I can think of no better end to the day then the 2 1/2 hour trip with tired, hungry, fussy girls to get a new dishwasher. I ended up having to leave with the girls while Tommy took care of everything. God Bless the sweet lady in traininig who was trying to help us and three other people order new kitchen appliances.
Add to all of this, Addison took no nap and she pooped in the pull-up she conveniently put on OVER her panties and it made for an all around great day!
On a happy note, the ceiling was patched this morning and the dishwasher comes tomorrow!

Who is this Girl?

I LOVE these pictures.....so full of personality! However, I stare at them and wonder where my baby has gone? Sometimes, I see a little girl in pictures, and realize that I don't always recognize how grown up she is getting!

The Horse Drawn Carriage Parade

Each Christmas Market Street does a horse parade through the outdoor shopping mall. It is becoming a tradition for our family. We went with the Kuykendalls last year and again this year. The horses are pulling carriages and everything is decorated for Christmas. Addison, my horse lover, is mesmorized! She loves it. This year, for the finale they had a huge trailer with a giant Santa and tons of lights. He was led in and followed up by horses. Reagan was a little grumpy, although as long as there was something for her to see, she was happy.
